“2024 Elections: I am prepared to get to work immediately; I don’t require a honeymoon period,” declares Bawumia.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has emphasized that he won’t seek a honeymoon period if elected in the 2024 polls, unlike his counterpart from the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama.

Addressing the crowd at his “It is Possible Mega Easter Walk and Mini Rally” in Kwahu on Saturday, March 30, 2024, Dr. Bawumia reaffirmed his dedication to ongoing action if elected President, offering assurances to the people of Ghana.

He underscored his intention to run for re-election in 2028, in contrast to John Mahama, who is ineligible for re-election.

Speaking to the audience, Dr. Bawumia advocated for energetic campaigning, emphasizing the importance of grassroots involvement in effectively conveying the NPP’s accomplishments.

“Unlike the Mahama, he wants a honeymoon after being elected, he won’t come back again so he won’t mind you. As for me, I’ll come back in 2028 so I will ensure I do my best for you all.

“So everyone must campaign very well as stated earlier. Today, we are going door to door, house to house to campaign to bring victory. It is possible, we are going to break the eight.”
