By Patrick Antwi Karikari, the Assembly Member for Asante Akyem Atwedie, has voiced serious apprehension regarding the recent spike in robberies occurring along the Atwedie Highway.
These occurrences have instilled a sense of vulnerability and fear among residents, posing a considerable threat to the community’s overall safety and security.
“The safety and security of our community members and highway users are paramount,” said Mr. Antwi Karikari Patrick. “Immediate action is needed to combat this epidemic of crime and ensure the safety of all who travel along the Atwedie Highway.”
The Atwedie Highway plays a crucial role in facilitating commerce and transportation, serving as a vital link connecting the municipality with neighboring communities and enabling the movement of goods and services. However, the ongoing threat of robbery has severely disrupted this essential lifeline, adversely affecting businesses, commuters, and the overall economic vibrancy of the region.
Mr. Antwi Karikari Patrick has urged law enforcement authorities, including the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the Juaso Police Division, to promptly implement effective measures to tackle the escalating incidents of robbery.
Enhanced patrols, heightened surveillance, and strategic allocation of resources are imperative to deter criminal activities and apprehend perpetrators.
