By-election forecast: Ahiagbah predicts NPP victory in Ejisu, confident in our strong support

Richard Ahiagbah, Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed confidence in the party’s support in Ejisu, ahead of the upcoming by-election scheduled for Tuesday, April 30.

Ahiagbah’s remarks came in response to allegations made by the campaign team of Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, the former Member of Parliament (MP) for Ejisu who is now running as an Independent Candidate. Aduomi’s team has accused the NPP of planning to use state security forces and vigilante groups to intimidate voters in Aduomi’s strongholds during the election.

Furthermore, they allege that the NPP is involved in various illegal activities, including bribing electoral officials, orchestrating power disruptions during the vote count, tampering with ballot boxes, and facilitating the transportation of ineligible Senior High School students to vote.

Despite these allegations, Mr. Ahiagbah reiterated in an interview with Selorm Adonoo on Eyewitness News, broadcasted on Citi FM last Friday, that delegates in Ejisu are poised to vote for the NPP based on their belief in the party’s ability to deliver, rather than any external influence.

He emphasized that Ejisu has historically supported the NPP due to their acknowledgment of the party’s contributions, alignment with its values, and adherence to its traditions. As a result, their support remains unwavering towards the NPP’s chosen candidate, Kwabena Boateng, for the parliamentary seat.

“Ejisu is destined to vote for the NPP’s candidate, Kwabena Boateng who the party has selected as its Parliamentary candidate. On Tuesday, there is nothing that will change and it will not be because any ballot box or stuff or any unqualified individuals will come and vote.”

“It will just be because Ejisu always votes for NPP because they know what NPP does for them, they are members of the party, they believe in the party’s values and traditions and that is why they will vote for the party,” he stated.
