“Demands for A-G’s resignation over Ambulance trial are unwarranted,” says Nana B

The National Organiser of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, has remarked that the demands for the resignation of Attorney General Godfred Yeboah Dame over allegations in the ongoing ambulance purchase trial are unwarranted.

The scrutiny comes in the wake of accusations leveled by Richard Jakpa, the third accused, claiming that the Attorney General approached him to assist in building a case against the Minority Leader and former Deputy Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson.
However, Nana B, as he is widely known, maintains that there is no justification for such demands as Mr. Dame’s actions were neither improper nor unethical.
“The calls for resignation are unnecessary. On what basis are they calling for the resignation? Is it because they are in bed with the NDC or NDC sympathisers? Was it wrong for Godfred Dame to have honoured an invitation from the Supreme Court judge? What was unethical about the AG’s conduct?” he questioned.
In addition, there have been suggestions for a parliamentary investigation or special inquiry into the allegation.
