Dumsor under Mahama was managed better than Akufo-Addo – Betty Mould-Iddrisu

Former Attorney-General Betty Mould-Iddrisu has shared her perspective on the ongoing power crisis in Ghana, suggesting that the management of the situation was more effective during the Mahama administration compared to the current New Patriotic Party government.

Her remarks come in response to statements made by former GIMPA Rector Professor Stephen Adei, who implied that the current power crisis is not as dire as it was during the Mahama administration.

During an interview with TV3, Mrs. Mould-Iddrisu expressed her concerns about the present erratic power supply under the NDC, highlighting that it is not as severe as it was during the current Akufo-Addo administration.

She emphasized the challenges encountered in the Ashanti Region, particularly following the renaming of the Ameri plant, describing the extent of power outages as unprecedented.

“After the renaming of the Ameri plant, the dumsor that we have experienced in the region [Ashanti Region] is unparalleled, even during our time, there wasn’t dumsor like that, and people are now fed up.”
