The Eastern North Regional Police Command has arrested two individuals for allegedly transporting a large quantity of suspected narcotic drugs at Amankwakrom on the Agordeke–Donkorkrom road.
The suspects, identified as Yaw Ntoso and Perpetual Ayitey, were picked up on November 13, 2025 during a snap check operation.
In a Facebook post, the police revealed that officers intercepted a Kia Bongo truck driven by Ntoso, and a search of the vehicle uncovered three white sacks loaded with 135 compressed slabs of dried leaves believed to be cannabis sativa. The slabs were wrapped in yellowish cellotape.
Police further retrieved 21 oval-shaped parcels containing similar substances.
The two suspects are currently in custody assisting with investigations. Police say they will be arraigned before the court after the ongoing probe.
