Ejisu by-election: Aduomi unworthy of NPP membership, he is a betrayer – Ahiagbah

Richard Ahiagbah, the Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has characterized Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, the former NPP Member of Parliament (MP) for Ejisu, as a betrayer and deemed him unfit for membership within the party.

This statement was issued in reaction to assertions made by Mr. Aduomi’s campaign team, as he contests as an Independent Candidate in the forthcoming by-election. They claim that the NPP consistently portrays Mr. Aduomi as a candidate sponsored by the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

During an Eyewitness News interview on Citi FM with Selorm Adonoo on Friday, Mr. Ahiagbah asserted that Mr. Aduomi is merely chasing shadows, as the NPP is unconcerned about his aspirations. He highlighted that the former Ejisu MP is contesting against the party that previously backed him.

Mr. Ahiagbah emphasized that delegates would factor this into their voting decisions, and Mr. Aduomi is aware that victory is unlikely in the elections.

“He is chasing his shadows. If he thinks he is not an NDC person and somebody is saying that he is an NDC person, why is he worried about it? We are not worried about what he is; we are just saying that he is a betrayer. He is not worthy of NPP membership.”

“The same party that treated him well, he is now standing against. We think that is not a good character. That is what the people will judge… He stands no chance of winning the elections, and he knows it,” Mr Ahiagbah emphasised.
