Yaw Boadu-Ayeboafoh, Chairman of the National Media Commission (NMC), has urged journalists not to allow themselves to be manipulated by politicians leading up to the 2024 general elections.
Addressing attendees at the launch of the 30th Anniversary of Radio Univers, Mr. Ayeboafoh emphasized the importance of upholding journalistic ethics.
He encouraged reporters to prioritize credibility and truthfulness in their reporting, particularly during this crucial electoral period.
“We must not allow ourselves to be misused by politically partisan interest to undermine our sense of professionalism,” Mr Boadu-Ayeboafoh asserted.
Mr. Boadu-Ayeboafoh highlighted the challenges encountered within the media landscape, particularly focusing on the lack of specific laws regulating electronic media in Ghana.
He emphasized the necessity for proactive measures to be taken to ensure transparency, accountability, and professionalism across all media platforms.
