Loyalty doesn’t always come with fanfare, but sometimes, it’s rewarded in the most meaningful ways.
Yesterday, a few trusted members of the Ga Mantse’s royal guard, along with the king’s respected linguist, Okyeame Laryea, left Accra for London on a well-earned holiday.
It wasn’t a political trip. No meetings, no agendas; just rest. And it was the king himself, His Royal Majesty King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, who made it happen.
For years, these men have served quietly behind the scenes. Guarding the palace. Standing with dignity through rain or shine. Speaking on behalf of the king with honor and precision.
Their loyalty has never wavered, and the king has never taken it for granted.
This isn’t the first time His Majesty has done something like this. Just a few months ago, he sponsored his storyteller, Nii Kwardey Ntreh, for a similar trip to London. The gesture surprised many; but it shouldn’t have.
King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II believes deeply in appreciating those who serve. It’s a principle rooted in Ga tradition: when you stand with your king, your king must stand with you.
To some, these trips may seem like a small act. But for those who’ve watched these men carry out their duties day in and day out, it’s a powerful sign that loyalty is not forgotten; and that true leadership is not about command, but care.
