The flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has expressed that the Ghana Music Xperience (GMX) streaming platform signifies a historic milestone for the country.
On Wednesday, October 30, 2024, Ghana’s music industry made a significant leap forward with the launch of the Ghana Music Xperience (GMX) streaming platform.
The event, which took place at the De Iconic Events Centre in East Legon, was attended by stakeholders from the entertainment industry and government officials.
Notable attendees included Vice President and NPP Flagbearer Mahamudu Bawumia, Tourism, Creative Arts, and Culture Minister Andrew Egyapa Mercer, MUSIGA President Bessa Simons, and Ghana Tourism Authority CEO Akwesi Agyeman.
The entertainment industry was also well represented, with stars such as E.L., Zapp Mallet, Hammer of The Last 2, Appietus, Samini, Fred Kyei Mensah, and Kaywa in attendance.
The event was further enhanced by a stunning performance from legendary traditional artist King Ayisoba.
As the special guest of honor, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia praised the launch of the GMX music streaming app as a historic moment for Ghana.
According to the Flagbearer of the NPP, “This is a historic moment for Ghana…to have our own music streaming app..it is my distinct honour and pleasure to formally launch GMX, Ghana’s locally made streaming app”.
