JB Murder Case: Sexy Don Don’s Severe Illness Raises Concerns, Reported to Court by Prison Officers

The murder trial of Daniel Asiedu, popularly known as Sexy Don Don, faced an interruption as the High Court in Accra received information that the first accused is experiencing severe vomiting.

Asiedu, currently on trial for the murder of the late Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu, was scheduled to appear in court. His legal team, led by Yaw Dankwah, was set to proceed with the cross-examination of the 8th Prosecution Witness, DSP Augustus Nkrumah.

Nevertheless, when the case was brought before Justice Lydia Osei Marfo on Tuesday, March 12, Sexy Don Don, the 1st Accused, was notably absent.

Officers from the Nsawam Prison, responsible for ensuring their attendance in court, reported that the first accused was “seriously vomiting”.

“He (Asiedu) was experiencing severe vomiting. I visited the health facility this morning (Tuesday), and he had a drip on. I will check on him when I go back,” the officer informed the court.

Due to the current condition of the first accused, Justice Lydia Osei Marfo waived the scheduled court date for Wednesday.

The case has been adjourned to March 18, 2024.

Sexy Don Don has pleaded not guilty to the charge of murder and robbery.

He, together with Vincent Bossu, alias Junior Agoogo have pleaded not guilty to the charge of conspiracy to rob and are standing trial while in lawful custody.
