Limited registration: Kukuom chiefs invoke curses on those responsible for recent violence

The chiefs of Kukuom in the Asunafo South Constituency of the Ahafo Region have called upon curses to befall both the perpetrators and sponsors of the violence that transpired at a registration center last Saturday.

The incident resulted in one individual sustaining serious injuries during the ongoing limited registration exercise in the town.

During a press conference, the chiefs expressed deep concern, performed traditional rituals, and poured libations.

Nana Oteng Boateng, the Dwafohene, condemned the violence perpetrated by armed individuals alleged to be outsiders to the town. He deemed such actions unacceptable and detrimental to Kukuom’s reputation. Consequently, they have summoned these individuals before their ancestors and invoked the spirits of all water bodies within the Kukuom enclave to administer merciless punishment.

Nana Oteng Boateng emphasized that the residents of Kukuom are known for their peaceful nature. The intrusion of outsiders, posing as vigilantes, and causing chaos to besmirch the town’s image is distressing.

In addition, Osahene Kwaku Atakyi, the paramount chief of Kukuom, urged the Ghana Police Service to apprehend all individuals involved in the disturbances. He emphasized the importance of enforcing the law to hold them accountable and deter similar occurrences in the future.
