John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, has committed to introducing a fresh era of governance by selecting youthful leaders for his cabinet if elected in the forthcoming December 7 elections.
This pioneering move, claimed to be unprecedented in Ghana’s political landscape, seeks to mirror the nation’s youthful population in its top decision-making echelon, as per Mahama.
Mahama stressed the importance of such representation, underscoring the vitality and viewpoints of the youth as crucial elements in shaping the cabinet’s makeup, in accordance with the demographic majority of the nation.
“One of the promises I leave you young people with is that the NDC cabinet post January 7, 2025, is going to be averagely one of the youngest cabinets in the history of this country.
“ If you look at the demographics of our country and you know that the majority are young people then definitely if you’re setting up a cabinet, young people must be the majority in that cabinet,” he stated.
