Nkoranza Traditional Council Denies Allegations of Cursing NDC and Mahama

The Nkoranza Traditional Council has refuted reports that it invoked curses on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, over alleged disrespect.

The council called these claims false and inconsistent with its values and practices.

The reports alleged that the chief of Doromakese in Nkoranza North, Bono East Region, had cursed Mahama and the NDC’s parliamentary candidate, Joseph Mensah, after they purportedly disrespected the traditional authorities.

According to the reports, Mahama had promised to pay a courtesy call to the council but failed to do so, leading to anger among the traditional leaders.

The council was allegedly said to have banned NDC campaign activities in Doromakese and invoked the gods to punish anyone voting for Mahama and Mensah.

However, in a statement released on Wednesday, September 4, the Nkoranza Traditional Council urged the public to ignore these false claims and called for responsible reporting.
