NSS plans to establish an office on the KNUST campus to alleviate personnel constraints

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is collaborating with the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology to set up an office directly on the university campus.

Osei Assibey Antwi, the Executive Director of NSS, highlighted that the planned office aims to tackle logistical hurdles encountered by NSS personnel. Currently, they are required to interrupt their official duties to visit district offices for evaluation form submissions.

“The new office, when established, will further streamline administrative processes, facilitate the timely disbursement of allowances, and enable better planning by accurately forecasting the number of graduates ready for service, thereby reducing skills mismatch,”he explained.

He disclosed this during a courtesy visit of the NSS leadership to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson.

Mr. Antwi underscored the enduring partnership between NSS and KNUST, acknowledging the reciprocal advantages derived from their collaboration over the years.
