Marti Kpebu, a member of the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) team, has pledged to ensure that Attorney-General Dr. Dominic Ayine takes action on the petitions received by the team.
On Monday, February 10, 2025, the ORAL team presented its report to President John Dramani Mahama in Accra. The President subsequently handed the report to Dr. Ayine, directing him to conduct immediate investigations into the cases outlined.
Speaking on Eyewitness News on Citi FM on Monday, February 10, Kpebu stressed the need for a thorough probe into the complaints submitted by the public, emphasizing the significance of holding officials accountable.
Those are petitions. People have written, some even anonymously, but they are saying that if you go to a police station to write that I have seen this, Mr. X or this money has been paid, it is way more than that. So those are petitions. The AG will not just throw them away.
He’s going to go through them and then the ones he finds straightforward and easy to investigate, he will start. And of course, the difficult ones too, he will do, but he will not just throw them away,” Kpebu explained.
Kpebu underscored the credibility of the petitions submitted and the evidence gathered.
“We know the petitions we submitted. How will the AG throw them away when he knows that I, Kpebu, sat through, brought petitions, and gathered some evidence? He won’t get peace. Ablakwa won’t give him peace.
“Domelevo will not give him peace. Kofi Boakye and now, fortunately for us, Raymond Archer has been appointed as one of the deputy directors of EOCO, so he will be helping,” he stated.
He stressed that Dr Ayine would not be able to dismiss the petitions without repercussions.
“So Dr. Ayine will not even do that… We will hold him accountable; he won’t get peace,” Kpebu said.
