Pong Tamale Veterinary College students protest the absence of water on campus

Students at the Veterinary College in Pong Tamale, situated in the Savelugu Municipality, convened at the school’s administration block on Thursday, May 16, to express their grievances regarding the continuous absence of water on campus.

Clad in clothing that did not meet the school’s standards, students arrived at their respective lecture halls without their usual white shirts and khaki trousers due to the inability to access water for washing.

As a result, they had to wear whatever clothing they could find, leading to their lecturers, who were displeased with their appearance, barring them from entering the classroom.

Frustrated by the persistent water shortage, students decided to take action by gathering at the administration block to demand explanations regarding the lack of water, which has been an ongoing issue for some time.

The protest underscores the substantial impact of water scarcity on the daily lives and academic pursuits of students at the Veterinary College.

While awaiting a resolution from the school administration, students are steadfast in their resolve to push for a sustainable solution to ensure that their fundamental needs are addressed on campus.
