Ghanaian Afro-Roots musician, Rocky Dawuni, has earned a nomination at the 2025 Grammy Awards in the Best Global Music Performance category.
This marks his fourth nomination in the prestigious awards.
Previously, in 2022, his album Voice of Bunbon Vol. 1 was nominated for Best Global Music Album. In December 2015, his sixth studio album, Branches of The Same Tree, received a Grammy nomination for Best Reggae Album.
This year, Rocky Dawuni has secured a spot in the Best Global Music Performance category with his song *”Rise”*, competing against artists such as Angélique Kidjo & Soweto Gospel Choir with “Sunlight to My Soul”; Arooj Aftab with “Raat Ki Rani”; Jacob Collier featuring Anoushka Shankar & Varijashree Venugopal with “A Rock Somewhere”; Masa Takumi featuring Ron Korb, Noshir Mody & Dale Edward Chung with “Kashira”; and Sheila E. featuring Gloria Estefan & Mimy Succar with “Bemba Colorá.”
In the Best African Music Performance category, nominees include Asake & Wizkid with “MMS”, Burna Boy with “Higher”, Chris Brown featuring Davido & Lojay with “Sensational”, Tems with “Love Me JeJe”, and Yemi Alade with “Tomorrow.”
The 2025 Grammy Awards will take place on February 2, 2025, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
