The Office of the President has clarified that the dismissal of Dr. John Ofori Tenkorang from his role as Director-General of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) was a result of government restructuring.
Contrary to speculation regarding the dismissal of the former SSNIT boss due to misconduct, the Presidency has clarified that the action was part of a restructuring initiative within President Akufo-Addo’s administration.
Eugene Arhin, Director of Communications at the Office of the President, affirmed this stance in a statement.
“Indeed, Dr Ofori-Tenkorang’s exit from office is part of the ongoing restructuring of Government being undertaken by President Akufo-Addo.
“The President is satisfied with the performance of Dr. Ofori-Tenkorang as Director-General of SSNIT in the past seven years, as the institution, under his watch, witnessed some impressive transformation. The President thanks him for his services to the nation,” he added
