A total of 18 individuals, comprising 12 High Court judges and private legal practitioners, have been shortlisted for elevation to serve as Justices of the Court of Appeal.
The list of nominees for the Court of Appeal also includes Justice Lydia Osei Marfo, Justice Francis Obiri, and Justice Aboagye Tandoh, all of whom currently serve as High Court justices, as well as Yaw Oppong, the Director of the Ghana School of Law.
This recent development follows shortly after Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo announced intentions to resume Court of Appeal sessions in various regions, with particular focus on the Western and Central regions.
