Donald Trump, the winning presidential candidate of the U.S. election, shared that many around him have expressed that his life was spared by God for a purpose—namely, to serve once again as President of the United States.
Speaking in West Palm Beach, Florida, during his victory speech, Trump, soon to be sworn in as the 47th president after what many are calling a historic comeback in American politics, stated, “Many people have told me that God spared my life for a reason.”
He continued, explaining that the reason was to “save our country and restore America to greatness. And now we’re going to fulfil that mission together.”
Donald Trump acknowledged that the task ahead would not be easy, but he promised, “I will bring every ounce of energy, spirit, and fight that I have in my soul to the job you have entrusted me with,” adding, “This is a great job; this is the most important job in the world.”
Trump has encountered multiple threats to his life leading up to this election. Recently, he narrowly escaped harm when a bullet grazed his ear during a campaign rally.
In his speech, Trump reaffirmed his determination to “make America great again,” pledging to enhance the nation’s healthcare system, reform immigration policies, strengthen the economy, and improve international relations.
He also emphasized his commitment to cutting taxes and restoring America’s global appeal.
“America has given us an unprecedented and powerful mandate,” he said to jubilant supporters as he declared a “magnificent victory”
Just before Trump spoke, Fox News projected his victory in the election, though other U.S. networks have yet to make the same call.
