Ahiagbah praises Bawumia’s policies for the fishery sector as visionary

Richard Ahiagbah, Director of Communications of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has lauded the proposed policies by the party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as groundbreaking and visionary. Ahiagbah, on his social media platform, formerly Twitter, emphasized that voting for Dr. Bawumia and the NPP in the upcoming December 7 elections would usher in new opportunities and a brighter future for individuals in the fishing industry.

During an address to fisherfolk in the Western Region, the NPP’s flagbearer expressed concern over the numerous challenges facing the fishing sector and pledged to implement a comprehensive strategy to optimize fisheries resources from the sea.

Bawumia outlined that the strategy would provide support to industrial, semi-industrial, and artisanal players in the industry to tackle the identified issues effectively.

Dr. Bawumia additionally pledged to advance female involvement in the fishing sector. He emphasized that his administration would strive to elevate the representation of women in the sector, aiming to surpass the 40 percent benchmark recognized by the Food and Agriculture Organization.

Ahiagbah emphasized that supporting Dr. Bawumia’s candidacy would enable him to lead the next government and implement fishery-friendly policies aimed at enhancing and optimizing the industry’s potential and opportunities.

“I am from a fishing community; I believe that Bawumia’s promise to implement policies to promote and maximize our fishery resources from the sea, inland, and aquaculture will bring about a significant change for my people, offering them new opportunities and a better future. His vision is a game-changer for us, and I am excited to see how it will unfold. Let’s vote for Bawumia and the NPP on December 7th to ensure the implementation of this policy, which will benefit fishing communities and Ghanaians.

“Your vote will make it possible!”

Dr. Bawumia kicked off his nationwide campaign tour on Monday, April 29, 2024, starting in the Eastern Region. He then proceeded to the Western Region, where he inaugurated 124 homes for survivors of the 2022 Appiatse explosion disaster.

Dr. Bawumia is scheduled to visit the Ahafo, Bono, and Bono East Regions on Wednesday, May 8.
