Water supply has resumed in parts of the Ashanti Region following the completion of repair works on a high-lift pump at the Owabi Water Treatment Plant.
According to the company, the repair works were completed at 13:40 GMT on Wednesday, after which production at the facility resumed at 14:05 GMT. The disruption had affected customers in the Abuakwa District and several surrounding communities.
GWL said water delivery to affected areas is expected to stabilise gradually as the system fully recovers and pressure builds across the distribution network.
The company’s management thanked customers and the general public for their patience and cooperation during the repair period, noting that the swift completion of the works was aimed at minimising inconvenience.
GWL also apologised for the disruption in service and reiterated its commitment to ensuring a reliable and consistent water supply across the region.
