The National Teaching Council (NTC) has refuted reports alleging an increase in the registration fee for the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE).
According to the Council, the registration fee remains unchanged at GH¢500, made up of GH¢450 for registration and GH¢50 for indexing. It emphasized that the fee has not been increased since 2023.
The clarification follows the circulation of social media posts claiming that prospective candidates would be required to pay a higher registration fee for the examination.
In a disclaimer issued by its Public Affairs Unit, the NTC said it had become aware of a false publication alleging that the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination registration fee had been increased.
“NTC wishes to state that the GTLE fee remains GH¢500 (GH¢450 for Registration and GH¢50 for Indexing), same as it has been since 2023,” the Council said, adding “there has been no increment.”
The Council urged the public to disregard any publication claiming that the registration fee for the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE) has been increased, describing such reports as false.
