Ghanaian UK-based journalist, DJ and social activist Von Nii Otto Cofie, popularly known as DJ Von, has congratulated Ghanaian-born UK- and France-based boxer Seth Gyimah, widely known as Freezy Macbones, following his achievement as the current WBA Africa Light Heavyweight Champion.
In a social media post on Thursday, November 5, 2026, DJ Von acknowledged the boxer’s achievement but was quick to remind him that winning a championship is only the beginning of greater responsibilities and challenges.
According to DJ Von, Freezy Macbones must remain focused, disciplined and committed to training, stressing that becoming a champion does not mean the hard work is over.
He expressed concern about what he perceives as the boxer’s increased activity on social media since winning the championship, particularly his public comments, challenges and exchanges with other boxers, rather than concentrating on preparations for his next assignment.
DJ Von believes that such distractions could take the champion’s attention away from the demanding work required to maintain his position and continue progressing in his boxing career.
He therefore urged Freezy Macbones to dedicate more time to training, remain focused and allow his performances inside the ring to do the talking.
As the CEO of 36mins Boxing, DJ Von emphasised the importance of discipline, preparation and consistency in the sport, reminding the champion that there are more challenges ahead.
His message to Freezy Macbones is simple : A champion never rests. The crown comes with greater responsibility, and the work must continue.
