Newly elected New Patriotic Party (NPP) 3rd Vice Chairman Nana Akomea has denied reports that he and fellow executive Nana Bee skipped the introduction of the party’s newly elected national executives over a failed arrangement involving First Vice Chairman Kojo Bamba.
Mr Akomea confirmed that he was absent from the event but said his absence had nothing to do with any disagreement or negotiations involving Mr Bamba or any other individual.
He explained that he left the conference grounds at about 11:30 p.m. and got caught in traffic on his way back to the Kumasi Stadium, arriving just a few minutes after the introductions had ended.
“I was not present during the vote counting and tabulation, and so could not have engaged myself in any ‘negotiation’ with Kojo Bamba or anybody else,” he said in a Facebook post on Monday, October 5.
Mr Akomea’s clarification follows reports about the absence of some newly elected executives during their introduction at the NPP’s national delegates congress in Kumasi.
