On Saturday, 3 October 2026, delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are not simply electing a National Chairman. They are choosing the experience of having a good one. They are expected to choose institutional knowledge and a proven record needed to reposition the Party for 2028.
In the words of John Boadu who is one of the contestants, “at this critical moment, the NPP must ask one question: who can lead the Party back to victory? My answer is clear. I have done it before, and I am ready to do it again.”
According to John Boadu, in 2016, when many thought victory was impossible because of internal challenges, he worked with dedicated members, sympathisers and volunteers to deliver victory then. In 2020, despite the COVID-19 pandemic, “we defended that victory”.
As Acting General Secretary and Director of Operations, he helped introduce systems that strengthened the Party’s electoral readiness, including:
- The Pink Sheet Tracking System, from IPAC to polling stations
- Rapid results collation within 16 hours of the close of polls
- Nationwide training for trainers and polling agents
- V16, a volunteer-based election-protection structure
- Mock elections to test operational readiness
- Operation Adopt a Polling Station
- Election Day logistics and voter transportation coordination
- Verification of the Electoral Commission’s voter album against Party records
- Strategic retail campaigning in key constituencies
- Stronger ballot security at polling stations
- Operation Eagle Eye, targeting areas of weakness
He added, “I have contested and won elections within the Party, served at the polling-station, constituency and national levels, and helped manage national campaigns. I know elections. I know the party. I know what it takes to win.”
Mr Boadu contends that, whatever long-term ambitions others may hold, the NPP’s immediate task is to rebuild the Party, restore confidence, strengthen the party structures and win back power. “Those with agenda 2032 can wait. My focus is victory in 2028. I have walked the road to victory before. Let us walk it again, together. He said.
Mr John Boadu declares, “Let’s bring back the winning ways of the NPP. Vote John Boadu for National Chairman.”
